Would we accept this for our own parents? Every standard in this home is the answer to that question.

Golden Hands began the way most honest things do — with a problem inside our own family. Dr. Dinali Vidanage is a medical doctor, and when caregiving came to her own home she saw what every Sri Lankan family eventually sees: love is not the problem. The system is. Between hospital wards and hired caregivers there was nowhere she would gladly leave someone she loved. So she built it — on one principle: our elders deserve more than care. They deserve dignity, compassion, and meaningful connection.
That principle decided everything that makes this home different. Dr. Vasika Kulatunga brought his training in general practice and community health, and built the care standards the home runs on — asking of every one of them, would we accept this for our own parents? It's why a psychologist sees every resident, not just the struggling ones. It's why care planning starts before day one. And it's why family is welcome every single day — because a home with nothing to hide doesn't hide.
Today Golden Hands cares for residents at our Battaramulla home, ten minutes from Colombo — and in 2026 we open our second home in Depanama, built to the same standard, run by the same doctors. Our locations →
Inside our homes, every detail exists to help residents live their best life — renewed opportunity, strengthened relationships, dignity and joy.
To be the presence families wish they could be — offering comfort, dignity, and heartfelt connection when they can't.
To deliver loving, reliable elder care that nurtures joy, protects dignity, and brings peace of mind to every family we serve.
We care like family — patiently, tenderly, and consistently — every hour, every day, with compassion at our core.
We act with honesty, transparency and fairness in every interaction. Families place their trust in us, and we honour that trust.
A medical doctor whose own family's caregiving years inspired her to reimagine elder care in Sri Lanka. She leads with both clinical expertise and genuine warmth — and is personally on call for every resident, day and night. Your parent's doctor knows their name, not just their file.
Trained in general practice and community health, he built the care standards the home runs on. Families and colleagues know him for his clinical thoroughness, calm presence, and deep regard for seniors — care that is personalised and respectful, resident by resident.
Dr. Cheroni Pullenayegam — MBBS, MSc Applied Psychology (Coventry University, UK). Private monthly sessions with every resident, weekly when needed — helping with the cognitive changes, losses and adjustments that come with ageing.
Plans the menus behind the home-cooked meals — including diabetic, low-salt and soft-food needs.
Designs each resident's mobility and strength plan — executed by the care team every day.
Cardiology and other consultants, engaged when a resident needs them.
Caregivers are the answer to the question families are most afraid to ask: "who actually looks after my mother?" Ours are introduced by name, with their training and tenure — because trust in people beats trust in claims.
Every caregiver is trained in elder care, dementia care and emergency response by Dr. Dinali and Dr. Vasika themselves — and works alongside them daily, not in a separate world. Meet them on your visit; they're the people your parent will know by name.
